PoliceBlotterNEW GARDEN —A New Castle man was charged with possession of marijuana, paraphernalia and traffic offenses after township police said they observed him failing to stop at a stop sign at Newark and Starr roads, July 2.

POlice identified the man as Brendan McGhee, 24 of New Castle, Del. After being pulled over, the police officer reported detecting a marijuana odor emanating from inside the vehicle. Police said McGhee admitted to possessing a small amount of marijuana and paraphernalia which he turned over to the police. McGhee was taken into custody for possession of marijuana, paraphernalia and traffic offenses.

Also on On July 2, police were called to a report of a neighbor dispute in the 100 block of Willow Street just after 6 p.m.. Police said after arriving on the scene, the victim and a utility worker told police that they were speaking about access to the property when Amanda Smith, 35 of Toughkenamon came onto the property and began yelling profanities.

Smith reportedly told police that the victim had called her earlier and after being told not call again. Smith was advised she would be cited for Disorderly Conduct for her outburst and to not have contact with the victim. The victim, who police did not identify, was also advised not to call Smith.

Later that same night, police responded to another report of a dispute. At 10:38 pm, police were called to the 1300 block of Newark Road for a report of  two to three women fighting. After polcie arrived on the scene,  the victim and witnesses reportedly told police that their roommate, Samantha Mlynarski, 20 of Newark Del. had started complaining about the room temperature. This behavior progressed to Mlynarski allegedly verbally abusing them and then into an alleged physical altercation. The victim reportedly told police that she had to restrain Mlynarski as she pulled her hair out during the struggle. Mlynarski was charged with harassment and to not have any further contact with the victim or other roommates.
