Kennett Square officers say resident had parole warrant

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAKennett Square Police said they detained Fernando Avalos, 21, of Kennett Square, on a parole warrant following a traffic stop on Wednesday, Dec. 11, at 4:12 p.m. in the 100 block of West Cedar Street.  Avalos was released to a parole agent, police said.

On Monday, Dec. 16, Kennett Square Police said that sometime between Nov. 16 and Dec. 16, someone attempted to steal a catalytic converter from a vehicle parked in the 100 block of South Walnut Street.  An investigation is continuing, police said.

Kennett Square Police said they are investigating the theft of a cell phone from a business located in the 100 block of Sycamore Alley.  The theft occurred on Wednesday, Dec. 11, sometime between 12:30 and 2:15 p.m., police said.

Police said they received a report on Tuesday, Dec. 17, that someone was observed the day before at 1:32 p.m. dumping household trash in the public trash receptacle located in the 200 block of Apple Alley.  An investigation is continuing, police said.
