Kennett Italian-Amer. Citizens League donates $5k to feed hungry

KENNETT — The Italian American Citizens League of Kennett Square recently showed its support for healthy nutrition for those in need with a by making a donation of $5,000 to the Kennett Food Cupboard.

At a recent event, Steve Pesce, President of the Italian American Citizens League presented Melanie Weiler, Executive Director with a check for $5,000 for the Kennett Food Cupboard.  It’s estimated that with this donation, the Cupboard will be able to purchase over 3,000 lbs of food for needy families.

While the mission of the Italian American Club of Kennett Square is to preserve and honor the culture, traditions, and heritage of the Italian community, the club has a deep caring for the community at large.  The club is dedicated to improving the lives of those in need in Kennett.
