KENNETT SQUARE — It’s the triple crown of the cooking competition reality TV shows as Iron Chef Jose Garces, Top Chef DC winner Kevin Spraga and Season 2 MasterChef winner Jennifer Behm step behind the Mushroom Festival’s demonstration kitchen.
Proclaiming her love of cooking with fungi and living next to Kennett Square, the Mushroom Capital of the World in the finale of Fox Network’s MasterChef, Jennifer Behm, of Wilmington, Delaware defeated her “arch-rival” with a mushroom ravioli as her assigned ingredient in the semi-final round. Behm will do a cooking demonstration at 2:45 pm on Saturday, September 10 in the Special Events Tent (corner of Willow and E. State roads). She will also judge the Amateur Mushroom Soup Cook-off at 5 pm on Saturday and ride in the Mushroom Festival’s Community Parade on Friday, September 9 at 6 pm.
Jose Garces, Food TV Iron Chef and Philadelphia restaurateur, will appear on Saturday, September 10, 1:30 pm in the Special Events tent. There will also be a book signing after his demonstration at the Culinary Tent (corner of Broad and E. Cypress Streets). Garces is also one of the judges of the Amateur Mushroom Soup Cook-off.
