KCSD says 11 successfully auditioned for District 12 honors
Kennett High School is celebrating the regional success of a group of its 11 top music students.
Music is in the air at Kennett High School, which is celebrating the selection by audition of 11 Kennett High School musicians to various Pennsylvania Music Educators Association District 12 Honor Festivals, the district announced.
Participating in the District Chorus earlier this month at Phoenixville High School were Samantha Anthony, Pearl Battalora, Dani Eland, Matt Griffin, Aaron Hrenko, Marisa Maxwell, Colby Reeves, and Julia Rivera. Hrenko, Reeves and Anthony were also selected to participate in Region 6 Honors Chorus. At Kennett High School these students are directed by Katie Soukup.
The District Orchestra performed on Jan. 25 at Bishop Shanahan High School in Downingtown and included Kennett High School student Katie Coughlan. Erin Dooley, Rebecca Ploener and Coughlan will be part of the District Band Festival, which will be held Feb. 6 to 8 at West Chester Henderson High School. Orchestra and band students are directed at Kennett High by Anton Romano and Jessica Eves.
