As power outages decrease, residents warned to brace for next onslaught
Kennett Township Manager Lisa M. Moore said she wanted to thank residents for their patience during the storm-related power outages..
“This morning there were 242 residents without power from the initial 1920 outages,” Moore said in an email on Monday, Feb. 10. “Currently there are 64 residents without power and PECO says they expect all to be restored by this evening.”
Moore said PECO advised her that residents need to let PECO know if they don’t have power but their neighbors do. “This could be the result of an embedment, which means when the power was turned on, a breaker or circuit blew out,” she said.
Moore said residents can click on the links for Food Safety data and After the Storm sheets for reference, and she urged preparations for the next storm, which is supposed to begin Wednesday evening and could bring substantial snowfall depending on its path.
“Remember, when the road crew is plowing your roads if you have already plowed or shoveled your driveway, you will get snow in your driveway after the plow comes through,” Moore said. “We apologize for this, but we cannot avoid it.”
