24-year-old Kennett Square man pulled over for traffic stop
A Kennett Square man was arrested for alleged drunken-driving on Wednesday, Feb. 26, said state police from the Avondale barracks. Police said Nathaniel R. Payne, 24, was taken into custody following a traffic stop at 1:23 a.m. on Kaolin Road, east of Sheehan Road.
State police from the Avondale barracks investigated an incident of criminal mischief, which reportedly occurred in Kennett Township on Sunday, Feb. 23, sometime between 3 and 8 a.m. Police said someone broke the rear window of a 2006 Nissan Quest on Ways Lane. Damage was estimated at $400, police said.
Coatesville Police responded to an alleged assault in the area of North Seventh and Diamond Streets on Saturday, Feb. 22, at 12:35 a.m., Officer Claire Lang reported. Police said Charles Denny, 40, of Kennett Square, was found unconscious on the sidewalk, bleeding from the head. Denny and Vincent Medley, 30, of Coatesville, were both visibly intoxicated and uncooperative, police said. Both were cited for public intoxication, and Denny was taken by ambulance to Brandywine Hospital for treatment of his injuries, police said.
