Residents will be able to watch supervisors’ meetings in part or whole

IMG_1557Lights! Camera! Action! Kennett Township has announced that its supervisors’ meetings will now be available on YouTube.

The new lower township building conference room has been upgraded with audio and video capability, enabling the meetings to be recorded and then posted on the Kennett Township YouTube account, a township news release said.

A new township web site, expected to be up and running within the next couple of weeks, will have a page that will list the specific meeting with a link to the meeting minutes (PDF file) and a link to the YouTube page so residents can view parts of the meeting or the whole meeting, Township Manager Lisa M. Moore said.

By clicking on the "see more" tab, residents can access agenda items to fast-forward to a particular section of the meeting.

When visiting YouTube to view township meetings, residents can click the “see more” tab below the published date to access a listing of the agenda items in the description area. On the left of the agenda item is the time when that item begins. Thus, while officials would like residents to view the entire video, those pressed for time can scroll through the agenda items and just choose selected segments by clicking on the time link, the release said.

To view the most recent meeting on Feb. 19, go to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bQ62KHhhjv8&feature=youtu.be.

In another effort to enhance communications, the township will begin disseminating the minutes of the Board of Supervisors meetings on a monthly basis through the township’s e-newsletter. The minutes will also be posted on the new web site, which will be demonstrated at the March 19 supervisors’ meeting.
