21-year-old detained during traffic stop reportedly had DUI bench warrant 

IMG_2031Kennett Square Police said they arrested Armando Gomez-Perez, 21, of Kennett Square, for unsworn falsification and false identification to law enforcement following a traffic stop on Sunday, April 6, at 3:28 a.m. in the 700 block of West State Street.  Gomez-Perez was found to have a bench warrant for failure to appear on DUI charges from the Kennett Square department, police said. He was video-arraigned by the on-call magisterial district judge, who set bail at $10,000 cash, police said.  Unable to post it, Gomez-Perez was transported to Chester County Prison by constables, police said.

On Sunday, April 6, Kennett Square officers received a report that sometime between 6 and 11 p.m. on Friday, April 4, someone stole a purse, ear buds, eyeglasses, and house keys from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 100 block of East Linden Street, police said, adding that an   investigation is continuing.

Kennett Square Police said they cited Anthony Santos, 23, and a 13-year-old female, both of Kennett Square, for criminal trespass on Friday, April 11 at 11:33 p.m. in the 500 block of South Union Street.  Santos and the juvenile were found on the railroad tracks, which are posted “No Trespassing,” police said, adding that the juvenile, who was not identified because of her age, was released to a parent.

Cesar Martinez-Rodriguez, 20, of Avondale, was cited for underage drinking on Saturday, April 12, at 10:24 p.m. following a traffic stop in the 700 block of West State Street, borough police said. Martinez-Rodriguez was released to a friend, police said.

Kennett Square Police said they cited Betty Brown, 51, of Kennett Square, for disorderly conduct after it was reported that she was screaming and yelling in the street in the 200 block of East Linden Street on Thursday, April 10, at 10:47 p.m.

Sometime between 9 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, and 3:45 p.m. on Sunday, April 13, license plate HRL2595 was stolen from a vehicle parked in a lot in the 100 block of West Maple Alley, borough police said.  An investigation into the theft continues, police said.
