Police say West Bradford resident, 63, charged with animal cruelty

PoliceBlotterA 63-year-old West Bradford Township man who allegedly disliked a woman’s pet rooster decided to take matters into his own hands when she declined to remove it from her property in the 1300 block of Cresmont Drive, said state police from the Embreeville barracks. Police said Telford E. Blevins grabbed his metal baseball bat and gave the rooster’s head a fatal blow on Friday, May 9, about 8 a.m.; he has been charged with cruelty to animals. Police said Blevins said “the rooster’s timing was off, and it begins to crow at 3:30 a.m.”

Nine vehicle owners were victimized in West Bradford Township sometime between 5 p.m. on Monday, May 5 and 5 a.m. on Tuesday, May 6, state police from the Embreeville barracks said. Police said someone broke into the vehicles in the 1300 block of Crabapple Lane, 900 block of Winesap Way, 900 block of Delicious Drive, and 1300 block of Stayman Drive and stole numerous items. Police said someone broke into two unlocked vehicles in the 2200 block of Cranberry Lane sometime between midnight on Friday, May 2, and 10 a.m. on Monday, May 5.

On Monday, May 5, at 1:19 p.m., a hit-and-run crash occurred on the westbound Rt. 30 Bypass, east of Reeceville Road, in East Caln Township, state police from the Embreeville barracks said. A red sports car attempted to merge into the left lane, struck a 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier, causing minor damage, and left the scene, police said.
