On Sunday, May 11, at 7:18 p.m., New Garden police officers were dispatched to the 8900 block of Gap Newport Pike for the report of an unruly patron who refused to leave when asked, police said.

Upon arrival, officers contact was made with the business owner, who said that Jennifer Schappert, 42, of Landenberg, had arrived and ordered a drink, police said.  After finishing the first and requesting the second, she was told by the busy employee that it would be a minute, at which point Schappert became belligerent, police said. Schappert used profanities toward the employee that annoyed other patrons and then refused to leave the business when asked to do so, police said.

Schappert was taken into custody and advised she is no longer allowed in the business, police said.  She was transported home and released after being advised she would be receiving a citation for disorderly conduct, police said.
