24-year-old allegedly charges at borough officers 

IMG_2030On Saturday, May 3, at 2:35 a.m. in the 600 block of Cope Road, Kennett Square Police arrested Mark Burrell Jr., 24, of Kennett Square, for resisting arrest, terroristic threats, harassment and disorderly conduct, police said.  Burrell allegedly charged at police, was pushed back, but charged again, pushing an officer in an effort to get the victim of terroristic threats and harassment, police said. Burrell was arraigned and released on $2,500 unsecured bail, police said.

Kennett Square officers arrested a 16-year-old male from Kennett Square for resisting arrest, public drunkenness, underage drinking, criminal mischief and disorderly conduct on Saturday, April 26 at 6:25 p.m., police said. The underlying incident – underage drinking – escalated when the juvenile was released to his parent, arrived home, broke a window and yelled obscenities in the street, police said, adding that the juvenile was remanded to Chester County Youth Center. A 15-year-old male from Toughkenamon, was also cited for underage drinking and released to his parent, police said.

Kennett Square officers arrested Nanette Drake, 54, of Lincoln University, for DUI following a traffic stop on Thursday, April 24, at 9:25 p.m. in the 500 block of West State Street, police said.  Drake was released to a friend pending a summons from district court, police said.

Following a traffic accident, Kennett Square Police said they cited Carl Bland, 25, of West Grove, for disorderly conduct on Friday, April 25, at 10:32 a.m. in the 100 block of West South Street

Kennett Square officers cited Humberto Guzman, 31, of Avondale, for public drunkenness on Saturday, April 26, at 5:30 p.m. in the 100 block of North Walnut Street after it was reported he was passed out on the side of the road, police said.  Guzman was released at his residence, police said.

Kennett Square Police said they are Investigating two theft reports. Sometime between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30, $600 cash was stolen from an apartment located in the 600 block of Lafayette Street, police said. And sometime between 6:10 and 6:20 p.m. on Thursday, May 1, a red, black and white BMX-style bike was stolen from the 400 block of Magnolia Street, police said.  The 10-year-old victim stated he had left the bike leaning against a tree while he played and when he went to retrieve it, it was gone, police said.

On Friday, May 2, Kennett Square Police cited Susan Caroff, 54, of Kennett Square, for violating a borough ordinance after her dog was barking constantly, beginning at 6 a.m., police said.

Kennett Square Police arrested Maryellen Mischler, 47, of West Chester, for DUI following a traffic stop at East Cypress Street and Exelon Way on Saturday, May 3, at 10:40 p.m., police said.  Mischler was released to a friend pending a summons from district court, police said.

A Landenberg woman was arrested for driving under the influence on Wednesday, May 14, at 3:18 a.m., said state police from the Avondale barracks. Police said Sarah Anne Neil, 28, of Landenberg, was charged following a traffic stop on West Woodview Road in Penn Township, east of Rt. 796.

Troopers from the Avondale barracks made contact with Samuel Paget White, 20, of Landenberg, and Curtis Stephen Matthias, 21, of Cochranville, on Friday, May 16, in a parking lot at White Clay Creek Park, state police said. Both men were found to be in possession of marijuana and paraphernalia, state police said.

An Avondale man was arrested for driving under the influence and methamphetamine possession on Tuesday, May 13, at 12:16 a.m., said state police from the Avondale barracks. Police said Archie Freeman Mundy Jr., 54, was taken into custody following a traffic stop at State Road and Rt. 896 in New London Township.

A Chadds Ford teen driver who was not identified because of his age, lost control of his 1991 Saab convertible on Balmoral Drive, south of Edinburgh Road, in Kennett Township, on Tuesday, May 20, at 8:50 p.m., said state police from the Avondale barracks. The teen, who was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured, left the roadway after swerving to avoid a deer, struck a boulder in the front yard of a residence, and then slid 20 feet, police said. The teen was not cited, state police said, adding that the Saab sustained disabling damage and had to be towed.
