Police Blotter: Two hurt in Cypress crash

KSPoliceKENNETT SQUARE — Borough police said two people were injured in a serious car accident, in the early morning hours Sunday on West Cypress Street.

Police said an SUV was allegedly traveling at a high rate of speed, eastbound, when it went off the roadway and hit a utility pole. After striking the pole, the vehicle overturned and spun, police said, ejecting one of the occupants. The vehicle then caught on fire, but the fire was put out by borough police shortly after they arrived at the scene.

Both people in the car, who were not identified by police, were transported to Christiana Hospital Trauma Center for injuries sustained in the accident .

The accident is still under an active investigation. Anyone who witnessed the accident or has further information is asked to contact Cpl. Richard Bell at 610-444-0501.
