Chester County author plans local book signings

DOWNINGTOWN — Chester County author Bruce Mowday has talks and book signings throughout Chester County in the coming six weeks, including Chadds Ford Days, a Paoli Battlefield event and Fall Fest in Downingtown.

“September is always a busy month in Chester County, especially since the Battle of Brandywine took place on September 11, 1777,” said Mowday, who has written books on local history, business, true crime and sports.

Mowday will be signing books, including his September 11, 1777: Washington’s Defeat at Brandywine Dooms Philadelphia, during Chadds Ford Days on September 6 and 7 from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. on the field of the battle.

On September 13 he will speaking on the Battle of the Brandywine at the Daughters of the American Revolution meeting at Grove Methodist Church and on September 20 he will be signing books at the Paoli Battlefield event in Malvern from 10:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

Mowday will be signing books at the Downingtown Fall Fest on September 28 from noon until 4:00 p.m. and will be giving a talk on his latest book, Pickett’s Charge: The Untold Story at 7:00 p.m. at the Brandywine Valley Civil War Round Table in West Chester at borough hall on October 1.

He is also talking on his book Life With Flavor, the story of Jim Herr and Herr Foods at the Hilltoppers group at Willistown United Methodist Church on October 1 at 10:30 p.m.

Mowday will have copies of his popular books on Richie Ashburn: Why The Hall Not and Jailing The Johnston Gang: Bringing Serial Murderers To Justice at the events.
