KENNETT SQUARE — La Comunidad Hispana’s Operation Warm recently received an additional 150 coats from Exelon.

“This winter has been especially cold,” said Margarita Mirkil, president and chief operating officer of LCH. “I thank Exelon and everyone who donated to Operation Warm this year.”

The available coats range in sizes from 4 to adult small. The coats are available to any community member in need while supplies last. Coats are available at LCH, 731 West Cyprus Street during hours of operation, 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8:00 a.m. until noon on Friday. To make sure coats fit children, children need to accompany adults.

LCH’s Operation Warm 2014 distributed 113 coats, 31 baby quilts, 500 pairs of socks and various hats and gloves during December. Donations were made by Exelon, FARO, the Episcopal Church of the Advent, Quilts for Comfort, RSVP of Chester County, Walmart, Jenner’s Pond Retirement Center and individual donors.

La Comunidad Hispana was established in 1973 as a community-based nonprofit organization to help low income residents of southern Chester County to stay healthy, build strong families and lead productive lives by providing high-quality, culturally welcoming services.
