Hazelnut is just one of many potential loves of your life you could meet at the Chester County SCPA’s Valentine’s Day adopt event Saturday.

WEST CHESTER — If you’re looking for love this weekend, why not visit the Chester County SPCA — Valentine’s Day is the perfect time to adopt a pet! The shelter’s homeless animals are all waiting for that special someone to come along and fall in love with them.

The monthly Second Saturday Adoption Event at the CCSPCA will be held on Saturday, Feb. 14, from 10am to 2pm, at 1212 Phoenixville Pike, West Chester. Adoption fees for adult animals will be reduced to encourage families to open their hearts to an animal in need.

Saturday’s adoption event will include a Smooch-a-Pooch Kissing Booth. No one should go without a kiss on Valentine’s Day! Kisses will be provided by adoptable (and adorable) animals for a small donation and photo souvenirs will be given to those who donate.

A special adoption fee of $14 will be applied to select Shelter Sweethearts during the event to promote the animals who have been waiting on love the longest. Each dog and cat has been examined by CCSPCA’s veterinarian, vaccinated, de-wormed, treated with flea and tick preventative, spayed or neutered, and microchipped prior to adoption. Adoption fees also include a free follow-up exam.

Adopters are invited back on Mondays for low-cost wellness clinic services available to the public to keep up to date on vaccinations, preventative heartworm medications, and other basic veterinary care. The shelter’s Animal Health Center also offers high-quality, affordable spaying and neutering of owned animals in the community by appointment, Tuesday through Friday of each week.
