State Police Operation Nighthawk nets 162 arrests

pspState police from numerous stations in and around Chester County teamed up with officers from twenty three municipal police departments to conduct Operation Nighthawk on March 27-28 2015. Operation Nighthawk is a specialized training and enforcement program aimed at reducing impaired driving.

A total of 127 State and Municipal Police Officers participated in the event.

The following are results from the detail:

928 Vehicles Stopped

124 DUI Arrests (26 of those were impaired on drugs or a combination of drugs and alcohol)

10 Seat Belt Citations

44 Speeding Citations

16 Driving Under Suspension Citations

9 Underage Drinking Arrests

358 Other Traffic Citations

29 Criminal Arrests (Includes Drug Arrests)

807 Warnings Issued

In addition to the above information, 3 illegal guns were seized as well as heroin, crack cocaine, ecstasy, marijuana, and prescription pills which were illegally possessed. In addition, $4,200.00 in cash was also seized.
