KENNETT SQUARE — The Kennett Square police department reports the following recent activity:
• Bicycle Theft — Kennett Sq. Police are investigating a report of theft that occurred sometime between Thursday, 10/13/11 and Sunday, 10/16/11. A bicycle was reported stolen from the porch of a residence located in the 200 block of South Walnut Street. The investigation continues.
• Assault — The Kennett Square Police Department arrested Thomas Altman Jr., of Kemblesville for Simple Assault, Harassment, and Disorderly Conduct for a fight that occurred on Friday, 10/14/11 at 5:19 PM in the 400 block East South Street. Altman was video-arraigned and released on $2500.00 unsecured bail.
• iPod Theft — Sometime on Thursday, 10/13/11 between 8:45AM and 5:30 PM, an iPod was reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 100 block East Linden Street. Kennett Square Police are continuing the investigation.
• Resisting Arrest — Kennett Square Police arrested a 17-year-old Male from Kennett Square for Resisting Arrest, Criminal Trespass, and Disorderly Conduct for an incident that occurred in the 200 block East State Street on Monday 10/10/11 at 4:02 PM. The Juvenile was released to a parent. Charges have been filed through Juvenile Probation.
• DUI — Kennett Square Police arrested Martin Velaquez-Gomez, 22 of Toughkenamon, for DUI following a traffic stop on Sunday 10/9/11 at 10:22 PM in the 600 block West State Street. Velaquez-Gomez was released at his residence pending summons from District Court.
• Criminal Mischief — Sometime on Saturday night, 10/8/11, a vehicle parked in the 400 block West Mulberry Street was keyed. Police are still investigating.
• Public Drunkenness — The Kennett Square PD cited Ronald Young, 43 of Kennett Square for Public Drunkenness on Saturday, 10/8/11 at 6:32 PM in the 600 block South Broad Street.
• DUI — Kennett Police arrested Oscar Jacome-Sanchez, 21 of Lincoln University, for DUI following an accident on Thursday 10/6/11 at 2:58 PM in the 100 block South Union Street. Jacome-Sanchez was released to a friend pending summons from District Court
• DUI — Kennett Police arrested Sharon Johnston, 34 of Kennett Square, PA for DUI following a traffic stop in the 400 block East Cypress Street on Tuesday, 10/4/11 at 9:52 PM. Johnston was released to a parent pending summons from District Court.
• Littering — During the 10/4/11 arrest, a passenger in Sharon Johnston’s vehicle, David TESTERMAN, 25 also of Kennett Square, was cited for littering.
