GooseView Technologies received FAA approval to use its drones for a variety of industrial and agricultural uses.

THORNTON — A local drone operator and certified thermal imaging company, GooseView Technologies, announced this week that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has authorized it to use unmanned aerial systems (UAS) for commercial operation.

GooseView is an early pioneer in this field and amongst the first in the region to receive FAA approval.

“The upside for the economy far outweighs the downside, provided drones are operated responsibly, under FAA authorization, by insured, tax-paying operators mindful of individual privacy rights,” said Michael Mogavero, GooseView President.

GooseView Technologies offers public and private entities the means to be more cost effective, environmentally friendly or simply safer by use of drones to accomplish tasks in a new way, or without the excess cost and safety concerns of piloted aircraft. Under FAA authorization, GooseView has begun engaging clients for a wide range of applications such as; aerial inspection of infrastructure, physical plant and roofs, surveying & mapping, construction site progress, crop-monitoring, real estate, filmmaking & photography, insurance binding & claims, and university research.

“We’re excited for the opportunity to support our regional business community,”Michael Mogavero, GooseView President, said. “Not only will we help businesses compete on the international stage, but strengthen them right here in the Mid-Atlantic Region. There are drone operators in the South, Midwest and Western States already helping their regions gain an edge.”

FAA approval places GooseView amongst other professional drone operators nationwide. The US currently lags (in years) other developed countries that established regulations for commercial drone use; Canada, UK, Germany, Japan, Australia, France, Switzerland, Mexico, Russia, Italy, South Africa, Norway, Austria, Spain, Belgium, etc.

GooseView Technologies, located in southeast Pennsylvania, began operations in July 2014, by founder Mogavero and senior technical advisors including a New Jersey Institute of Technology Home Land security expert and a current US Military MQ-9 Reaper pilot. Prior to receipt of FAA approval, GooseView researched and documented best practices for operational safety and regulatory compliance.
