OXFORD — The Chester County Commissioners awarded the Borough of Oxford $575,000 of 2015 Community Revitalization Program funds for the Wheeler Boulevard Improvements project on Wednesday. The project consists of replacing waterlines, valves, adding fire hydrants, installing a storm water system, street paving, new sidewalks and handicap accessible ramps at the intersections.
The project will occur on Wheeler Boulevard from North Third Street (Route 10) to Lincoln Street (Baltimore Pike). Benefits to the project will include improved water quality, improved firefighting capabilities with better water pressure and a safer street with the streetscape improvements.
