KENNETT SQUARE – Kennett Middle School students – grades 6, 7 and 8, their families, and members of the Kennett community are invited to attend the first annual ‘We are Kennett’ night at Kennett High School, 7 PM, Wednesday, December 9.

The open house aims to educate rising middle school students, and their families, about the quality public high school education the Kennett Consolidated School District (KCSD) offers. Attendees will have the opportunity to speak with teachers, counselors, meet coaches and club advisors and gain a feel for what their high school academic experience will be like.KHScorrected

KHS principal, Dr. Jeremy Hritz explains, “We are hoping to encourage middle school students to begin thinking about their high school studies and about all of the opportunities they will have at Kennett High School. We Are Kennett Night will help students to begin creating a vision for what is possible through their education and in their future careers.”  Hritz added, “We will be sharing a wealth of information, in addition to being able to answer any questions that out students and parents may have….A lot of hard work and energy has gone into making this event a possibility, and we hope to make this a yearly event!”

KCSD Board President, Heather Schaenn says “We have been working diligently to better inform our students, families, and constituents of the variety and magnitude of wonderful programs we have implemented at KHS, and offer them an opportunity for all to see the facilities and hear from our dedicated, hardworking staff. We have a great deal of amazing things happening on a daily basis and look forward to sharing them with the Kennett community.”

Schaenn enthusiastically notes, “This is a great opportunity to learn about all of the programs, details, and opportunities for our students from academics and advanced placement courses, to STEM (Science Technology Engineering & Math), music, arts, drama, athletics, after school clubs, college placements, Vocational-tech options, graduation course requirements and much more.  We hope to see you there!”
