La Comunidad’s new Oxford Health Center is slated to open later this month.

OXFORD — La Comunidad Hispana (LCH), a Kennett Square health and community services organization with more than 40 years’ history in southern Chester County, will open its first satellite location in Oxford this month. The LCH Oxford Community Health Center will be a full-service health center for primary, acute, and chronic care, and will be located in the Oxford Professional Center at 301 North Third Street (next to the Redner’s Shopping Center).

Alisa Jones, President and CEO of LCH, is thrilled at the opportunity to expand LCH’s reach: “I am so proud of the LCH team and feel humbled by the ability to lead LCH into our next chapter as a multi-site and multi-service community agency casting an even broader safety net to support low-income and vulnerable families in southern Chester County.”

Board Chair Paul Huberty says that there is a huge need for the second location: “Lack of transportation to medical appointments prevents many families from accessing the care they need, and the new site will allow for new patients of the Oxford community to have an accessible resource for health care that would otherwise not exist.”

The LCH Oxford Community Health Center will have a grand opening event on Wednesday, December 9 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. All from the community are welcome to stop by and visit the new site and learn more about LCH’s expanding role in the Oxford community. The grand opening is sponsored by LCH’s community partner, Fulton Bank.

The center will be open to patients starting mid-December. LCH accepts patients with health insurance, with public coverage such as Medicaid, Medicare, and CHIP, and without insurance. Patients wishing to make an appointment should call 610-444-5278.
