SEPTA to implement Christmas Eve schedule for regional rail

PHILADELPHIA – SEPTA will implement its special Christmas Eve midday schedule to better accommodate customer travel needs. The special schedule was created to provide additional service for individuals leaving work early from Center City stations around noon, instead of the typical two-hour evening peak period.

SEPTA’s regular midday schedules are not designed to accommodate a rush hour crowd, and a
special schedule was developed to accommodate holiday travel plans.

Under the special schedule, SEPTA is shifting resources and rescheduling eight trains that
normally operate during the peak evening rush (4:50 p.m. – 6:03 p.m.) to operate earlier (12:24
p.m. – 12:40 p.m.). Since these trains will not operate at their regularly scheduled times,
customers, traveling during normal peak hours will have to take the next available train to
complete their trips home.
The special schedule is  available at http://www.septa.org/schedules/rail/special/pdf/2015-12-
rrd-christmas-eve.pdf All Regional Rail trains will operate on a special schedule on Friday, December 25, 2015. Printed
versions of the schedules are available at Center City Stations and for download at www.septa.org
Riders can also contact SEPTA Customer Service representatives at (215) 580-7800.
