KENNETT — Officials and key residents from Kennett Township were honored nationally for their endeavors to revamp a selected area of the township.

Kennett Township was nominated for their work to beautify the abandoned area between the entrance and exit ramps of Route 1. After much work and dedication the Township planted 13,000 hybrid lily bulbs, 150 rose bushes, and mulched and watered the area so that this Spring, an eye-catching display was in full bloom for both residents and tourist traffic to enjoy.

The township won first place in the Keep American Beautiful National Awards, with runners up from Glendale,CA and New Orleans,LA.
