maxchristmastreePOCOPSON — PAWS Training Centers is back again this year selling Christmas Trees at Northbrook Marketplace to benefit disabled veterans.

Proceeds from the tree sales help to fund training and placement of servie dogs for disabled veterans and active duty service members. In 2015, PAWS was able to place 38 service dogs with veterans and active duty service members to help them with their disabilities.  There are currently have over 300 dogs in training at various stages that will eventually help those that can benefit from a service dog.

This year PAWS will offer three types of trees, Fraser Firs, Concolor Firs, and Douglas Firs, from  3′-5′ up to 14′. The Douglas Firs are from northern Pennsylvania and the Fraser Firs are from North Carolina. They began cutting these trees right before Thanksgiving and have some ready for sale immediately. There will also be undecorated wreaths and pine roping.

Volunteers will be at Northbrook Marketplace seven days a week (weather permitting), M-F from 12pm – 6pm, and weekends, 8am-6pm.

(Cash, Checks or Credit Card are accepted).

This year PAWS will have three dogs there that are in the program – two golden retrievers, and a chocolate Newfoundland.  (Hayden, Brooke, and Inzlie are a few of our ambassador dogs for paws4vets.)
