Six great options for those you love

By Kelly Hockenberry, Columnist, The Times

kellycolumnnewest916Hooray for the holidays! The countdown to gift giving is on and I have an awesome Super Six to get you ready. Plus, I threw in one (sorta) random pick that I have been fixated on and felt compelled to share. So, without further ado…

  • Lash Boost by Rodan + Fields: I have written many times about my never-ending quest for long, luscious lashes. Various brands of mascara, expensive extensions, drugstore falsies…all with so-so results. I even contemplated trying a prescription level enhancement formula, but, resisted due to an accompanying list of side effects. However, this Lash Boost has been the answer to my prayers! I was given the opportunity to try it by my friend, Jeneen. She is a consultant for Rodan + Fields and a wealth of information when it comes to this skincare line. She instructed me to distribute a small amount of product along my lash line before bed. The conditioning serum distributes peptides and keratin that help to condition, strengthen, and lengthen the lash. I have been using the product for approximately two and a half weeks and I am already amazed by my results. I can see a noticeable difference in the appearance of my lashes. It is recommended to use for at least 8 weeks for the best results. Lash Boost would make a spectacular stocking stuffer! Contact Jeneen by clicking this link: http://bit.ly/2fUmL9D
  • Capri Blue Candle in Spiced Cider: It wouldn’t feel like a holiday Super Six without including a candle from Anthropologie. The beautiful, gold container elevates a basic home decor item into the perfect present for the hard to buy for person on your list. There are several scents to choose from; but, Spiced Cider was my personal favorite. Click here : http://bit.ly/2gUcMyl
  • holiday-super-sixFree People Loveland Bootie: It’s no surprise that a pair of shoes would be included in my picks for this month. I selected these booties (found at Nordstrom Rack, ON SALE, for $110!) because they can be worn with pants or dresses! Major score. Who needs Santa? Click here: http://bit.ly/2fUnMyq
  • Peaky Blinders on NetFlix: OK, so, while this selection may seem random in a gift-oriented Super Six…my obsession is real and must be exposed. And, I figured that many of you will have time off from work over the holidays to be able to indulge in a marathon, TV watching event. THIS IS THE SHOW, people. That’s it. I’m not telling you anything else (except that you will need to watch with the subtitles feature ON). I can’t wait to hear what you think. (Warning – does contain violence)
  • Chat Books: Coolest present, ever! Turn your Instagram or Facebook posts into a photo book! Here are the instructions directly from their site: “Email or text your unique link to your friends. In one click, they will sync their Instagram photos for you to use. You can pick a cover, proof the pages, and order the book!” For example, the 2016 Highlight Book contains 30 pictures in a hardbound book with a Rifle Paper Co. design on the cover. I love a personalized gift and this one can’t be beat. So cool. Click here for details: http://bit.ly/2fY9zvb
  • Chunky Knit Blanket: These gorgeous, hand knit blankets have been featured on virtually every blog that I follow. The problem is, they cost a small fortune. Therefore, I set out to find a reasonable alternative. The Etsy website never lets me down. I discovered this blanket featured at a discounted, holiday price point (varies according to the desired dimensions) from JennysKnitCo. Available in a wide array of color choices, it will make a cozy addition to your cold weather decor. Click here: http://etsy.me/2h6tQDQ

That’s a wrap! I hope that I have given you some unique options for under the tree. Happy holiday shopping!
