WEST CHESTER – United Way of Chester County kicked off the 2016 campaign with their fourth annual Live United in Music concert, featuring twin sisters Kimberley and Tamara Pinegar, and their famous dueling pianos show from Harrah’s Las Vegas.

The twins played a diverse repertoire from Billy Joel to Motley Crew, including live requests from the audience, helping to raise spirits and funds for United Way’s Financial Stability Center.  Over 220 guests including corporate sponsors, volunteers, and donors gathered at Penn Oaks Golf Club and collectively helped contribute over $57,000 to the cause.

The group effort included Citadel, returning as event Presenting Sponsor for the fourth consecutive year, and Penn Oaks Golf Club recommitting as Host Sponsor, donating the five star meal and hospitality.  CCRES, Brumbaugh Wealth Management and CertainTeed shared lead sponsorship for the event along with an impressive list of additional corporate and in-kind contributors demonstrating Chester County’s commitment to the community.

United Way of Chester County Board Chair, Charlie Kochka, said, “It was great to see our community having fun while supporting the important work of the United Way of Chester County.  Tonight’s generosity ensures United Way’s Financial Stability Center can continue to help neighbors regain strong financial footing and get their lives back.” Proceeds from Live United in Music benefit the United Way of Chester County Financial Stability Center (FSC) which provides key resources to help local residents improve their financial situation and move toward self-sufficiency and independence. United Way’s Financial Stability Center (FSC) offers over 15 social services in coordination with PA CareerLink®-Chester County and its partners all under one roof with access to a navigator coach to customize a plan for achieving set goals.

The evening began with a cocktail hour where an interactive ice sculpture was a literal ice breaker as guests were encouraged to chisel their name into the wall.  A sit down dinner followed in the grand ballroom where Penn Oaks did not disappoint with five star food, service, and hospitality. Dessert shared the spotlight with chocolate baby grand pianos filled with mousse.

Special guest  Joe Tankle, VP of Business Development for Meridian Bank, entertained the crowd with a live auction during dinner, and helped raise additional funds for the cause. The night culminated with a 45 minute dueling piano performance where sibling rivalry was at its best, dividing the room and fans into cheering for the star performer.  There was a unified spirit however in coming together for the good of a cause and its community.

Citadel  Senior Vice President, Michael Schnably, added, “We’re fortunate to have the kind of community who understands that together we can lift all our Chester County residents and make it home for every one. This is the fourth year of the Live United series where good fun for a good cause helps make the work of United Way possible.”
