Borough police release crime statistics during Tuesday night’s Borough Council meeting

By P.J. D’Annunzio, Staff Writer, KennettTimes.com

KENNETT SQUARE—Police Chief Edward Zunino announced the borough’s crime and police call statistics for the months of November and December of 2011 before the Mayor, the council, and citizens during Tuesday night’s Borough Council meeting.

Among the borough’s most prevalent offenses are DUIs. This is an issue Chief Zunino has vowed to correct.

“Officers are scheduled for four hours of training in January and February of 2012 on DUI checkpoint and DUI roving patrol details,” he said. “The training is provided through the Chester County Impaired Driving program. It is necessary for our officers to receive this training for the latest in DUI enforcement.”
