WEST CHESTER — The former East Fallowfield man charged with sucker punching a man with cerebral palsy in front of a borough 7-11 has been taken into custody, Chester County Sheriff Carolyn “Bunny” Welsh announced Monday morning.

According to authorities, the Chester County Sheriff’s Fugitive Apprehension Unit and the Chester County Sheriff’s K-9 Unit, working with the U.S. Marshals found Barry Baker, 29, now of Georgetown, DE, in Uwchlan Monday morning, just after 8 a.m.

Baker had been sought by authorities since May 25, after allegedly missing two court-mandated appearances.

Baker faces simple assault charges from the May 10 incident at the 7-11, as well as a failure to appear on a domestic relations case and an adult probation warrant.

“We’re pleased that Mr. Baker is in custody,” Welsh said. “It was a great effort by multiple agencies.”

Baker has been transferred to Chester County Prison in Pocopson to await a preliminary hearing.
