Fox and Blue Demons hit the pool at LaSalle

Kennett captain Delaney Fox will be competing in multiple events during the district meet at LaSalle University

PHILADELPHIA—It’s that time of year again, as people everywhere start to think about spring and begin looking forward to planning day trips to the city, days lounging poolside and summer vacation, the young men and women that have spent tireless hours training in the gym and countless days of lap after lap in the pool since November, prepare to take on the best that the state has to offer.

Kennett High School will have a full contingent representing the Blue Bemons as the best of District One take to the water at LaSalle University.

On Thursday and Friday in the PIAA District championship will take place, with a berth at the Pennsylvania state championships to be held at Bucknell University at stake along with district glory.

The boy’s will have an entry in the 200 Medley and the 400 Freestyle relay, as well as being represented by juniors Liam O’Neil (100-freestyle, 100 breastsroke), Alex Cattafesta (200 Individual Medley) and Jeff Hauptschein (100 butterfly) with several swimmers competing in multiple events.

On the girl’s side of the docket senior Delaney Fox, who will be swimming the 500 yard freestyle as well as the 200 freestyle will lead a talented group of ladies who will also be competing in the 200 medley relay along with the 400 freestyle relay.

Fox, who has signed a letter of intent to swim at east Carolina University, has been part of the varsity swim team at Kennett for all four year and was named team captain prior to the start of the season, has been a true “demon”, pardon the pun as she has

Kennett sophomore Kiera Judge (2:21.53 in the 200 IM) and freshman Amalija Jurcik, who qualified for the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 113.03 will be seeing their first ever district action and looking to advance to states.
