Ruggieri to announce state house bid, Sunday

On Sunday, February 2, Richard Ruggieri, a resident of London Grove Township in Chester County, will announce his candidacy for the Pennsylvania State House of Representatives, District 13.

The campaign kick-off will be at Old Stone Cider, 959 Chesterville Rd, Lewisville, PA from 1:00 to 3:00

p.m. The event is open to the public. All district residents interested who are in meeting Ruggieri and members of his campaign are welcome. Light refreshments will be served.

Ruggeri’s career has been built upon public service. He is a veteran of the United States Air Force where he spent 10 years in service. He also worked with adult learners at Penn State University. One such position was with the Justice and Safety Institute, which provides professional development for law enforcement and public safety professionals. Ruggieri has been active in local politics since 2007, serving as a Precinct Committee Person, Campaign Field Operations Coordinator and District Leader.  He is ready to bring his knowledge and experience to Harrisburg.

“Now is the time for new leadership in the Pennsylvania Legislature.” Ruggieri said. “Government works when representatives honor and serve the people. When elected, I will think independently and deliver solutions to the challenges our community faces.”

Ruggeri intends to work diligently and collaboratively towards:

    • Education and Job Training
    • Property Tax Reform
    • Stewardship of Natural Resources

After graduation from Pennsylvania public schools, Ruggieri enlisted in the Air Force and then went on to earn a Bachelors of Science in Information Technology from Penn State University. He currently works for Barclay’s Bank as an Assistant Vice President in Information Technology Service Management. He is married to Christina Ruggieri, and they have two young sons. Their older son attends Avon Grove schools and their younger son will start in the fall.

Pennsylvania House District 13 encompasses 22 precincts and three school districts, Avon Grove, Octorara and Oxford, in southwest Chester and eastern Lancaster Counties.
