Owen J. Robert School Board member Paul Friel announced his candidacy for the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, legislative district 26, this week. As a community leader, executive manager, and local business owner — Friel’s vision for the district reflects the values he will bring to Harrisburg.
“My vision for our community is not about the politics of Harrisburg — it’s about the policies that impact our schools and community everyday,” Friel said. “Right now, too many of our current representatives positions and votes reflect Republican Party politics from Harrisburg and not our local community needs. I am running because I believe sound policy that is reflective of our shared values will strengthen our community.” “Our schools, our environment, and our local businesses need someone with the energy and willingness to put our values and sound policy before politics.”
A resident of East Vincent township, Friel is a current member of the Owen J Roberts School Board and also owns a local business, PACE Environmental, a Mid Atlantic environmental testing and engineering firm. Paul grew up in neighboring Gilbertsville and lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania and graduated from St. Pius X High School and Temple University.
House district 26 encompasses parts of Chester and Montgomery counties. The district has been represented by Republican Tim Hennessey since 1992.
