Discount promotion offers admission to 11 Brandywine Valley attractions

The Nemours Mansion is the newest addition to the Treasure Trail Passport program that allows a one-price admission for a wide range of local museums and destinations.

For the fourth year in a row, the Brandywine Museums and Gardens Alliance is offering a Treasure Trail Passport, a cost-saving approach to taking advantage of the region’s cultural offerings.

The promotion, which includes admission discounts to eleven Brandywine Valley attractions (new this year is Nemours Mansion and Gardens), runs from this Saturday through Sept. 3. For $35 per adult, or $75 for a family of two adults and up to three children, visitors receive a passport good for one-time admission at the Brandywine River Museum, Delaware Art Museum, Delaware Center for the Contemporary Arts, Delaware Historical Society & Read House, Delaware Museum of Natural History, Hagley Museum and Library, Longwood Gardens, Mt. Cuba Center, Nemours Mansion & Gardens, Rockwood Park & Museum, and Winterthur Museum, Garden & Library.

Visitors who return a completed passport will be entered into a drawing on Oct.1 for gift certificates from top local restaurants.

“This is a unique opportunity for our local friends and neighbors to enjoy the gems in their own backyard, and for out-of-town guests to visit the spectacular gardens, museums, and historic sites conveniently clustered in the Brandywine Valley,” said Molly Keresztury, the Alliance chairwoman. “We’re delighted to have added Nemours Mansion & Gardens to the passport this year, while keeping the price the same as in 2011.”

The passport program is funded in part by the Delaware Tourism Office, the Greater Wilmington Convention and Visitors Bureau, Amtrak, and Today Media, Inc. Tickets are available online at http://www.visitwilmingtonde.com/pporder/. They can also be purchased at all all eleven sites, the Greater Wilmington Convention & Visitors Bureau, and the I-95 Welcome Center in Newark, De.
