The City of Coatesville is announcing the hiring of a new Assistant City Manager. Roberta Cosentino has been named to the executive management position by City Manager James Logan, and Coatesville City Council voted its approval on February 13, 2023.

Logan said, “We’re pleased to welcome our newest member of the City’s staff. Roberta’s long-standing service to the Chester County community is highly valued, and we look forward to her leadership.”

The Assistant City Manager is charged with supporting revitalization and development of the City, working with the public works and codes departments, developing programs, policies and plans for all facets of City government, assisting the City Manager with municipal and interdepartmental operations, budget preparation assistance, leadership of City staff, and interacting with public and private agencies, members of the public and City Council.

Cosentino replaces Charles “Chip” Lukens Huston, who passed away last September after being named to the position in 2021.

Cosentino said, “I am honored to work for the City alongside its dedicated and hardworking staff and elected officials. Coatesville’s history, culture and community will guide my work every day while we work collectively to navigate through this pivotal time for the City.

Cosentino became a resident of Coatesville in 2018 after purchasing her first home in the City. She previously served on Borough Council in Modena and worked as Director of Community Food Access & Education Programs at the Chester County Food Bank, where she developed and operated several of the organization’s healthy food access programs. Cosentino currently serves on the Board of the Chester County Planning Commission, where her focus has been on equitable access to transportation, affordable housing and green spaces. A first generation Italian-American, Roberta speaks Italian and Spanish fluently.
