First Friday Art Stroll, Chesco Grand Prix bike race set to entertain
A confluence of entertainment will jumpstart the weekend in Kennett Square.
The borough’s First Friday Art Stroll will be complemented by the Chesco Grand Prix bike race. Kennett will host the final criteriums of
the race, a series that began a week ago and has featured events throughout the county with professional men and women as well as amateurs. The course will run through the center of town between 5 and 9 p.m. Sections of State and Union Streets will be close to traffic during the event; however, parking will be available in the Municipal Parking Garage as well as other sides streets and lots.
Galleries, shops and restaurants will stay open late for the Art Stroll – and the race – with a variety of special exhibits, live music, sales, and light refreshments featured.
To accommodate the race set-up, the Kennett Farmers Market will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday in the usual spot – the Brick Walkway and along East State Street – but some vendors will stay for the duration of the race.
