State Rep. Chris Pielli (D-156)

State Representative Chris Pielli has announced his candidacy for reelection as State Representative for House District 156.

“Serving as your State Representative for PA 156 is one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life” stated Chris. “When I first ran, I promised that I would give everything I could for every constituent i n my district, regardless of political affiliation. It was a promise I made and a promise I’m keeping every day.”

After the 2022 election, for the first time in 12 years, Democrats controlled the House with a one seat majority. Despite many partisan roadblocks, Pielli and the Democrats were able to pass over 200 bills including increased childcare tax credits, sensible gun safety laws, more investments in public education and student mental health, universal free breakfast for all K12 students, and expanded the property tax/rent rebate program. In addition, they added nearly $900 million to our rainyday fund showing that Democrats can deliver on key priorities while remaining fiscally responsible and producing a balanced budget. Furthermore, Pielli introduced 4 bills in his freshman year that passed the House with overwhelming bipartisan support including HB 1278 Renewing and Amending the Wiretap Act, which was recently signed into law by Governor Shapiro. However, there is still much to do as the Senate sits on 165 of the 200 Bills Pielli and the PA House passed.

Pielli pledged, “I will continue to fight to give us a living wage, protect our environment, guarantee our voting rights, protect reproductive choice, support our local economy, enforce our PA Constitutional duty to provide fair funding for our children’s education, and ensure a citizen’s right to equal protection under the law no matter their race, gender, age, sexual orientation, social class, or religion. Because a Government that doesn’t work for everyone, inevitably, will not work for anyone.

Every election is about choices. The 2024 election will determine what kind of Country and Commonwealth we choose to be for future generations. I need your support to ensure that our community continues to shine as a place of opportunity, inclusion, prosperity, progress….. and peace for everyone.”
