Reed L. Snyder
Reed L. Snyder, 77, of Ephrata, passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at Ephrata Manor.
He was born in Lancaster to the late Lester and Sarah B. (Herr) Snyder and was the husband of Allyson S. (Showalter) Snyder, with whom he shared 55 years of marriage.
He was a lifetime member of Bethany United Church of Christ, Ephrata.
Reed worked as a math teacher at North Brandywine Middle School. He was a 1964 Ephrata High School graduate before attending West Chester University, graduating in 1968. In his free time, Reed liked to garden, fish and hunt in Lycoming, where he was a member of the hunting camp.
In addition to his wife, Reed is survived by a daughter, Pamela S. Simpson; a son Christopher R., husband of Jeanine Snyder; three grandchildren, Gabriel, Bailey Matthew and a brother, Neal J., husband of Donna Snyder.
A viewing will be held on Sunday, February 18, 2024, from 6 to 8 PM at Bethany United Church of Christ, 140 East Main Street, Ephrata. An additional viewing will be held on Monday, February 19, 2024, from 10 to 11 AM, at the church, followed by his funeral service at 11 AM, with Pastor Katie Jackson officiating. Interment will take place in Memory Gardens Memorial Cemetery.
