The Pennsylvania Scholastic Esports League (PSEL) is excited to announce its upcoming collegiate esports showcase event, taking place on Saturday, April 20, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Fluxspace in Norristown.

This event will feature several local colleges and universities showcasing the state of esports within their organizations. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about esports programs, clubs, and degree/certification offerings from institutions such as Temple University, University of Delaware, Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology, Montgomery County Community College, and Neumann University.

In addition to the college presentations, the showcase will host two separate tournaments for Rocket League and Super Smash Brothers Ultimate. Participating students from high schools across Pennsylvania will be able to compete against their peers while gaining firsthand experience in the world of competitive esports.

“PSEL is excited to host a local esports event for our teams in southeastern Pennsylvania, where they can not only play competitively but also interact with local colleges. A central part of our mission is to provide learning experiences through scholastic esports, and our collaboration with our higher education partners at events like this one provides experiences to our students that go beyond the game,” said Kammas Kersch, PSEL Director and STEM Services Coordinator at the Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU) .

High schools already registered to attend include Cardinal O’Hara High School, Catasauqua High School, Cocalico High School, Hanover Senior High School, Hill Top Preparatory School, Norristown Area High School, and Red Lion Area Senior High School as well as student teams from KickTheDay and The Point.

The collegiate esports showcase is open to the public and free to attend. Interested participants can register using the online form at www.cciu.org/EsportsShowcase. PSEL is powered by the Chester County Intermediate Unit.
