A new chapter in early childhood education begins as Berwyn Early Learning Academy officially opens its doors on August 25, 2025, offering high-quality care and education for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old in a nurturing, innovative environment.
Part of Berwyn United Methodist Church’s mission to serve community members and directed by Alex Smith, a passionate early childhood leader with a Master’s Degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, Berwyn Early Learning Academy is on a mission to raise kind, curious, and resilient children — the amazing adults of tomorrow.
“Our vision is bigger than just child care,” said Smith. “We’re building a place where children are encouraged to explore, take risks, and grow into confident learners – and where families feel seen, supported, and part of a community every single day.”
The center features:
- Small classroom sizes for personalized care
- A dedicated infant room, toddler program, and preschool (ages 3-5) class that each use a exploration-based curriculum
- An emphasis on the whole child: socially, emotionally, and intellectually
- A team of experienced educators who believe in the power of play, love, and learning
- Generous tuition rates with ELRC accepted
BELA is now enrolling, and families are invited to visit the new space, meet the team, and experience the energy of a center designed from the ground up with children in mind. An open house with entertainment and refreshments will be held September 6, 2025 for families to come see what BELA is building. Join us for some family fun 11:00am to 2:00pm.
