CIU staff members greet families at the Early Childhood Resource Fair held at TCHS Pickering. The team helped distribute backpacks and supplies to families attending the event.
The Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU) hosted its second Early Childhood Resource Fair on October 16, 2025, at the Technical College High School (TCHS) Pickering Campus. The event brought together families and community organizations dedicated to supporting early childhood development, family wellness, and educational success across Chester County.
Building on the success of the first event held at the Gordon Early Literacy Center in September, the Early Childhood Resource Fair welcomed families from CCIU’s Early Head Start (EHS), Head Start (HS), and Preschool Special Education (PSE) programs. Throughout the evening, families connected with more than 25 partner organizations, including Women, Infants, and Children (WIC), The Housing Partnership of Chester County, Austill’s, and Arts Helping Hands and Hearts.
Each family received a backpack, diaper bag, and diapers, and had the opportunity to shop the free market, which offered a wide selection of infant, toddler, and children’s shoes, socks, clothing, and coats. A favorite among children was the Teddy Bear giveaway, generously donated by Build-A-Bear Workshop.
“This event is a reflection of our commitment to building relationships that strengthen families and communities,” said Cameron Natiello, CCIU PSE family engagement specialist. “By working together with our partners, we’re ensuring that Chester County families have access to the resources they need to thrive.”
The Early Childhood Resource Fairs are part of CCIU’s ongoing effort to connect families with essential supports while strengthening partnerships across the county. The final Early Childhood Resource Fair of the year will take place on November 13 at the Engle Education Center in West Grove, PA.
