Gov. Josh Shapiro speaks to audience of Chester County Democrats and guests
The Chester County Democratic Committee (CCDC) honored Chester County Commissioner Marian Moskowitz with the Chester County Democratic Leadership Award at a banquet held at the People’s Light Farmhouse in Malvern on 10/22/25.
Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro recognized Commissioner Moskowitz’s dedication to service at the ceremony attended by over 175 Democratic leaders, volunteers, and supporters.
Commissioner Moskowitz was awarded for a lifetime of strong and compassionate leadership. In 2020, she was the first Democratic Chair of the Chester County Board of Commissioners and oversaw Chester County’s services and operations throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. A lifelong entrepreneur, she also played a role in reviving local business in Chester County and co-founded Emerge PA, a program that trains women to run for office.
Chester County Commissioner Josh Maxwell, Phoenixville Mayor Peter Urscheler, and CCDC Chair Charlotte Valyo also spoke to Commissioner Moskowitz’s work in the county.
The event was attended or supported by every judge up for retention this year, including Pennsylvania Supreme Court Justices Christine Donohue, Kevin Dougherty, and David Wecht, Superior Court Judge Alice Beck Dubow, and Commonwealth Court Judge Michael Wojcik.
Also in attendance were Superior Court candidate Brandon Neuman and Commonwealth Court candidate Stella Tsai.
