33rd Annual Chester County Restaurant Festival set for Sunday
After feasting on fungi at last weekend’s Mushroom Festival, area foodies will likely be heading to West Chester on Sunday for the 33rd Annual Chester County Restaurant Festival.
One of the biggest annual events in the area, the free festival will be held from noon to 5:30 p.m. More than 60 restaurants and food vendors will sell their culinary offerings along four blocks: Gay Street, between Matlack and Darlington; and High Street, between Chestnut and Market. A beer garden will be set up on Church Street.
In addition to gourmet and ethnic food favorites, more than a 100 vendors will feature crafts and information booths. One will be staffed by by the Chester County Department of Emergency Services, which is spotlighting National Emergency Preparedness Month.
To enhance the festive atmosphere, live bands, including Barakka, Spotted Atrocious,Kuf Knotz, National Rifle, and Tom Larsen, will perform at three locations. At 2 p.m., spectators will have an opportunity to watch the Chester County Culinary Cook Off on the steps of the historic courthouse. Four chefs will do battle in a series of cooking challenges for top honors.
