ATGLEN — Kennett High School ran up an impressive 36-0 halftime lead and coasted to an easy 36-20 win over Octorara, Saturday night, in a game delayed by bad weather, Friday.

Senior tailback Jordan Lardani, arguably one of the top backs in southeast Pennsylvania in 2012, scored three touchdowns and rushed for 96 yards on just 10 carries, mostly in the first half. Senior Kevin McQuiston also scored two touchdowns and had 57 yards on just three carries.

With the win, the Blue Demons (6-2, 3-1 in the ChesMont American) remain very much in the hunt for their first state playoff spot since the program was revived in 2005. Furthermore, with just one loss, they remain very much in the conversation about the ChesMont American title, tied for second with West Chester Rustin, and trailing only Unionville, which is 4-0 in the league after holding off Great Valley, Friday night.

The win could set up one of the biggest games in southern Chester County in years on Nov. 3, when Kennett hosts Unionville in what may be a crucial version of the Mushroom Bowl — a game that could decide a league champion and have profound playoff implications. Of course, for that to happen, Kennett must defeat Oxford this coming Friday night, while Unionville must hold off Octorara.
