Broken pallet of fungi, smashed windshield, identity theft on list of investigations
Kennett Square police are investigating several instances of criminal mischief, ranging from messing with marinated mushrooms to shattering glass.
Police said the mushroom mischief occurred sometime between Friday, Oct. 12, and Monday, Oct. 15, in the 400 block of West Mulberry Street. Police said a pallet of marinated mushrooms and two windows were broken on construction equipment.
Sometime overnight on Saturday, Oct. 20, the back windshield of a vehicle parked in the 500 block of Center Street was shattered, and on Oct. 21 at 12:25 a.m. a glass pane on a front door was smashed in the 300 block of Birch Street, police said.
Police are also probing a burglary on Oct. 10 between 7:20 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. in the 300 block of Harvey Circle, the theft of yellow aluminum siding from the yard of a residence in the 300 block of Meredith Street between Oct. 5 and Oct. 8, and the fraudulent use of a debit card on Oct. 11 that was reported by a resident in the 700 block of Meredith Street.
On Oct. 13 at 6:13 p.m., Juan Rodriguez, 25, of Kennett Square, was cited for harassment stemming from an incident that occurred in the 400 block of East South Street, police said.
Police said they arrested Daniel Price, 31, of West Grove, for possession of drug paraphernalia on Sunday, Oct. 21, at 5:41 p.m. at South Walnut and East State Streets.
Two Kennett Square residents were cited for public drunkenness, police said: Harry London, 52, on Saturday, Oct. 13, at 4:20 p.m. in the 300 block of East State Street, and Vincent Ruggieri, 52, on Oct. 21 at 2:11 p.m. in the 200 block of South Walnut Street.
On Tuesday, Oct. 9, Jose Quintana, 20, of Kennett Square, was cited at 11:36 a.m. in the 800 block of Wayne Avenue for an open container and possession of alcohol by a minor, police said. A check of Quintana’s record revealed that he had a warrant from state police so he was released to a trooper, police said.
Kennett Square police said they arrested two for driving under the influence: Cara Robbins-Saylor, 38, on Saturday, Oct. 20, at 3:34 p.m. in the 500 block of Magnolia Street, and Jose Zavala, 44, of Wilmington, De., following an accident in a parking lot in the 500 block of South Union Street on Oct. 13 at 9:55 p.m.
State police from the Avondale barracks said they arrested Dominic Joseph Diossi, 18, of Kennett Square, following a one-vehicle crash on Bayard Road, south of East Baltimore Pike in East Marlborough Township on Oct. 7 at 9:20 p.m.
