Kennett Square officers investigating two instances of criminal mischief

Kennett Square Police arrested Andrew Santaniello, 53, of Kennett Square for simple assault following an incident  Oct. 29 at 8:30 p.m. in the 300 block of East Linden Street.

A Chadds Ford resident faces charges following a traffic stop in the 700 block of West State Street on Nov. 1; Kennett Square  police said Michael  Crawford, 21, was driving under the influence at 1:32 a.m.

Kennett Square police said they are investigating two reports of criminal mischief. One allegedly occurred overnight on Oct. 31 and involved scratches on two vehicles parked in the 200 block of Scarlett Avenue. The second happened overnight on Nov. 1, when a tired was slashed on a vehicle parked in the 500 block of Center Street, police said.

 

Dennis Vanthuyne, 61, of Kennett Square,was cited  for retail theft on Nov. 3 at 7:20 p.m. in the 500 block of West Cypress Street, police said.

State police cited a Kennett Square resident for drunken-driving. Police said Shawn Garris, 40, was arrested on Sept. 30 at 7:32 p.m. after he drove his SUV into a ditch in the parking lot of Marshallton United Methodist Church in the 1200 block of West Strasburg Road.

A vehicle break-in and theft in Avondale is under investigation, state police said. The crime allegedly occurred Nov. 6 between 1 and 2 a.m. when someone broke the driver’s side window of a vehicle in the 100 block of 4th Street, west of Rt. 41; police said $20 worth of change was taken.
