Altercation leads to three arrests in borough

Two teens, 50-year-old man involved, police said

A Nov. 18 altercation in the 400 block of Magnolia Street at 1:14 p.m. resulted in three arrests, Kennett Square police said: a 17-year-old from Avondale, who was referred to juvenile authorities;  Joseph Miller, 50, of Avondale; and Sherri Lilley, 19, of Kennett Square.

Kennett Square police said they are investigating several reports of criminal mischief.  On Nov. 19 between 10:24  and  10:29 p.m., the front driver’s-side window was shattered on a vehicle parked in the 100 block Meredith Street.  The same day, between 10 and 11 p.m.,  several vehicles parked in the 400 block of East South Street were keyed.  And on Nov. 9, police said someone spray-painted lines on a vehicle parked in the 500 block of East Cypress Street.

Javier Bedolla-Zavala, 42, of Kennett Square, was arrested for resisting arrest, retail theft, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct for an incident that occurred on Nov. 20 at 5:09 p.m. in the 500 block of West Cypress Street, police said.

Two reports of theft are under investigation, police said. One involved cash stolen from a business located in the 100 block of East State Street on Nov. 23 between 7 and 7:45 p.m. The other occurred on Nov. 13 between 3 and 4:20 p.m.; police said, cell phones, headphones, a knee brace, book bag, and debit card were stolen from a business located in the 100 block of Race Street

Traffic stops led to three drunken-driving arrests, police said: Ricardo Tovar-Cruz, 41, of Kennett Square, on Nov. 24 at 12:01 a.m. in the 500 block of Rosedale Road; Miguel Villegas-Loaeza, 23, of West Chester, on Nov. 24 at 1:13 a.m. in the 500 block of North Union Street; and David Cranston, 52, of Kennett Square, on Nov. 24 at 9:36 p.m. in the 600 block of West South Street.

On Nov. 11, Kennett Square police said cited Jose Gutierrez, 18, of Kennett Square, for underage possession of alcohol at 12:31 a.m. in the 700 block of Wayne Avenue. A 17-year-old Kennett Square male was also arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

State police arrested a 21-year-old Kennett Township man on Nov. 30.  Luis Magana was charged with  assaulting his live-in girlfriend and spitting at arresting troopers, police said.

New Garden Township Police are investigating several instances of egg-tossing by a group of male juveniles. The incidents were reported the evening of Nov. 21 in the 100 block of Sandwich Lane, the 100 block of Portmarnock Drive, and the 100 block of Kittanset Court.  Another incident was reported at 10:13 p.m. on Nov. 25 in the 100 block of Sandwich Lane, police said.
