State, borough police make drunken-driving arrests

 Charges stemmed from investigation into traffic accidents

Image 2An Avondale man was arrested for driving under the influence on Feb. 14 at 8:05 p.m. in Kennett Township.

State police from the Avondale barracks said Miguel Alejandro Gonzalez, 29, was driving on Scarlet Road, north of Hillendale Road when his vehicle left the roadway and hit an embankment; troopers said he showed signs of intoxication.

Kennett Square Police arrested Oscar Morales-Guerrero, 23, of Kennett Square, for driving under the influence after a traffic accident at 10:03 p.m. at South Walnut and Birch Streets.

Borough police are investigating a theft reported on Feb. 7. Police said at approximately noon on Feb. 2, a drivers license was stolen from a business located in the 100 block of West Cypress Street.

Kennett Square Police are also investigating a report of criminal mischief that occurred sometime between Feb. 1 and Feb. 5, Police said the passenger-side window of a vehicle parked in the 500 block of South Broad Street was smashed out with a rock.

On Feb. 10 at 1:05 a.m., police cited a 14-year-old West Grove male, a 15-year-old Avondale male, and a 17-year-old Kennett Square male for curfew violations in the 700 block of Wayne Avenue, police said.
