Kennett Square police log 4 drunken-driving arrests

 Most of the citations stemmed from traffic stops or accidents

Kennett Square police issued an assault citation to an 18-year-old borough resident on Feb. 16.

Drug- and alcohol-related charges dominated the Kennett Square police blotter during the past two weeks.

Police arrested Brandon Clark, 27, of Newark, De., for allegedly driving under the influence of a controlled substance following a traffic stop on Feb. 13 at Way’s Lane and U.S. 1.

Lawrence Martens Jr., 21, of Media, was cited for allegedly possessing marijuana following a traffic stop in the 700 block of West State Street on Feb. 14 at 10:13 a.m.

Kennett Square police arrested Alexander Fidanza, 28, of Avondale, for alleged drunken-driving following a traffic accident in the 300 block of East State Street on Feb. 14 at 10:46 p.m.

Police said Israel Alcaraz-Mora, 26, of Toughkenamon, was arrested for driving under the influence on Feb. 15 at 9:49 p.m. following a traffic stop in the 700 block of West State Street.

Fernando Bedolla-Lara, 24, of Kennett Square, was arrested for driving under the influence of a controlled substance on Feb. 16 at 6 p.m. following a traffic stop in the 500 block of South Union Street, police said.

David Westley, 18, of Kennett Square, was cited for simple assault and harassment following an incident in the 500 block of East South Street on Feb. 16 at 8 p.m., police said, adding that Westley was video-arraigned by the on-call judge and released on $3,500 unsecured bail.

Police are investigating a report of criminal mischief.  Police said at 12:30 a. m. on Feb. 10,  eggs were thrown at a residence and a vehicle located in the 200 block of Scarlett Avenue.

State police from the Avondale barracks said Antonio Rodriguez, 27, of Toughkenamon, was cited after he lost control of his 1994 Acura on the Toughkenamon off-ramp of U.S. 1 on Feb. 21 at 6:55 a.m. Police said Rodriguez’s vehicle left the ramp and traveled up an embankment before rolling over. Rodriguez refused medical treatment, police said.
