Kennett Square will celebrate National Women’s History Month with exhibits and business openings during the First Friday Art Stroll.

Since March is National Women’s History Month, Kennett Square is taking the opportunity to honor women in the arts. Many downtown merchants will be featuring women artists on the borough’s First Friday Art Stroll, when select retailers will present special exhibits and refreshments from 6 to 9 p.m.

The downtown district is also celebrating the debut of two new businesses owned by women. At 5 p.m. Friday, Kennett Design, 117 W. State Street, will present its  “Social Art Studio” –  guided painting events and parties for the non-artists of all ages.  Invite your friends or join an existing group to complete a 16 x 20 acrylic painting on canvas.

At 6 p.m., the other retail newcomer, Vignette by L.E. Walker, 123 E. State Street, will showcase its selection of unusual accessories for the home.
