La Comunidad Hispana coordinating transportation to Phila. program
La Comunidad Hispana is coordinating free bus transportation to the Susan G. Komen’s Latinas United for the Cure event at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown on Saturday.
The free program, which is open to everyone, includes bus transportation and lunch paid for by the Komen organization. To reserve a spot or to receive additional information, call Soledad Duran at 610-444-7550, ext. 207. Duran said last year three buses were used to transport participants.
The “Hope Breast Cancer: Knowledge, Strength and Support for your Life” event starts at 8:30 a.m. with registration followed by a panel discussion on breast cancer and sexuality. Group sessions – available in English and Spanish – will then be held.
The Komen Philadelphia Affiliation Community has local resources for women in need of mammograms as well as breast cancer diagnosis, treatment and support.
La Comunidad Hispana was established in 1973 as a community-based nonprofit organization to empower immigrants and low-income residents in Chester County to stay healthy, build strong families and lead productive, fulfilling lives.
